  1. Assuming you already hold a RAA Pilot Cert. The whole point is, that you must hold the RAA Cert to fly an RAA Airplane no matter what your GA qualifications are which I found out when I converted to RAA.
  2. I have used Avgas exclusively since purchasing my Jab new in 2014. I do this because this is what the Manufacturer recommends, and is supported by a comprehensive analysis done by Jabiru some time ago. I have not had any problems with Avgas 100LL and dont see any readon to change.
  3. Also, a Transponder is not mandatory in Class D airspace, but if you have one aboard, it must be serviceable and calibrated.
  4. Is that just a simple switch available from Jaycar?
  5. Flightrite, lets wind this up and move on. All i, and others, were trying to say, is that its simpler to just quote the name of the Airport so that having to google it or search is not necessary. There is no need for sarcasm or the need to ask personal questions like AM I A PILOT with a funny face beside it which i found offensive. We all have our opinons and should be able to express them without being ridiculed. I appreciate your views and simply ask that you respect mine, and accept other opinions.
  6. aro doesnt this apply to a flying school plane only, and not a private operator? At Camden, Students at the RAA School get their RAA Cert and can operate under a dispensation, but someone fronting up with their own plane cant do this unless they have a PPL and Medical?
  7. And yes I am a Pilot (CPL) with approx 2500 flying hours just making a point that it would be helpful to type BENDIGO rather than YBDG. Lets leave it at that.
  8. OK, I fly out of YSBK. My point is that anyone not familiar with NSW may not know where this is. So i just type BANKSTOWN to may it ciear.
  9. Where is YBDG? Why not just use the Airport name, it only takes a millisecond longer to type?
  10. Yes but as aro says, a Pilot with just a RAA Cert is not allowed to enter Controlled Airspace when active.
  11. Kevin i believe we posted at the same time!
  12. To enter Controlled Airspace such as Class D or the Williamtown Control Zone where you may be vectored, you must hold at least a PPL and class 2 Medical. At Williamtown on weekends some of their airspace reverts to Class G ( or used to) so i suggest to have a look at ERSA for the latest situation
  13. Jabiru mandate replacing oil and fuel hoses every 2 years regardless of usage. Ive only ever used Avgas with no issues.
  14. You must h You must hold a RAA Pilot Cert to fly an RAA Reg plane whether or not you hold a CASA Licence as well.
  15. Not sure about the answer to that, but in my case, at each 25 hour oil change, there is only a tiny amount in the bottom of the bottle. The secret is not to overfill the sump, and Jabiru recommend keeping the oil level close to the bottom mark of the dipstick for short flights of 1 hour or so.
  16. The large Clamback & Hennessy Hangar is now occupied by Sydney Seaplanes. The whole south west corner of the airport is being levelled for Industrial development.
  17. Excellent, thanks for your help.
  18. No worries mate!
  19. Thanks, done that but photo still ends up in the reply section. I must be doing something wrong. I see most of the other ads have photo at top, will keep trying....
  20. There is an excemption i believe, for a RAA Cert holder to fly a RAA School aircraft away from a class D airport but must return to that same airport. Someone correct me if is wrong thanks
  21. And how do you put a photo on the top section of an ad? When I hit ADD FILE it puts the photo in the REPLYsection. Thanks
  22. Also the old Schofields Building and Chieftain Buildings have been Bulldozed! I think the Whitworth Aviation Office seems to be deserted.
  23. Thanks Kyle. I have the Trig Transponder which in 6 years has never been a problem and no issues passing calibration checks. Your comment WORKS MOST OF THE TIME however makes me wonder??
