  1. I might be stupid or something but can someone tell me why in this day and age that again we have plane go missing in the water and they don't seem to know exactly where it when down..I thought after the last one that disappeared they would have fixed this issue.. David
  2. Merry Xmas all and I hope everyone has a very safe and fun time with family and friends, I also wish everyone a great and prosperous 2015, and thanks too to Ian and everyone behind the scenes for a great forum without which a lot of people would know a lot less, thanks guys !!! David

  6. Or join the club and find the biggest loudest DOG...to annoy the crap out of everyone... David
  7. Yes good idea... send out a letter to the neighborhood... free BBQ and helicopter rides this Sunday... please sign here first to say you are ok with my helicopter being here before you take your ride.. David
  8. Like his neighbor said there would be more noise with some lawn mowers and blowers and for a much longer time than a helicopter taking off and landing.... try living beside someone with a barking dog night and day like we had to.. I sold the house to get away for these uncaring selfish people..so a helicopter for me a couple of times a day would be nothing.. As Bex said maybe a limit on his comings and goings and proper fencing for safety... David
  9. Fly Now Redcliffe is the place to go! Mahl Oakes is the owner and CFI, he is a wonderful instructor and I have found as an older student he is very patient and gentle with me which is great, so if you want to great instructor close to Brisbane you couldn't do much better than giving Mahl a call. http://www.fly-now-redcliffe.com/ David
  10. Same as any other forum on the internet gandalph...you first sift through all the crap and finally you get to the gold left on the bottom of your pan and that's never guaranteed. David

  13. What was the damage on the 2nd Gazelle Jumbo? David
  14. There are pages and pages of what should be done from everyone on the site but I have not seen one official response from the other main party Jabiru...are they doing the head in the sand thing and hoping it will all just go away or maybe they a getting a measured response together and surprise us all with what they plan to do about all of this... David
  15. This thread goes around and around and around...how many pages now..and still the talk goes on..and on...has this subject still not be talked to death...YET.. gezzzzzzz David
  16. I have been reading the complaints and I have seen the accident reports over the last year of so about the Jab engines, now I don't own an aircraft by the way, but I see a lot of people on this site now complaining bitterly that CASA is being to heavy handed with Jab etc, what did you expect them to do? I think their proposal is exactly want Jab needs to get their hands from under their ***** and to fix their engine or get it redesigned to make it safe to use. All the money Jab has made over the years from selling aircraft part of this money should have been going into developing a completely new engine maybe a water cooled version, I would say they have not, well why not? from where I sit they have not had any development program to evolve the engine to the next step, it seems they are just happy to rake in their money play around with the existing engine forget about all the safety issues they have with the old engine and ignore everyone, well NOW they can't, well not if they want to stay in business. It is painful for all concerned but it does NEED to be done for all the pilots and their families. David
  17. I would have thought water cooling the engine or cooling in general would have been the main number one issue that needs to be addressed before EFI systems? David
  18. The prices owners were getting for the sale of their Jabs were low before, what's this going to do for the resale values? I guess only one way.. David
  19. Well done Ian, I hope it is a huge success for you mate. Now I can keep the boss happy with a present for her at the same time I am buying something for ME...good one.. :) David
  20. I don't recall ever giving you a full quote so I don't know how you can make a comment about the affordability of my sheds. From what you are saying you are one of the people that can afford to build a hangar, but your budget won't stretch another $40 per year?..you should have only screwed half the shed off and you would have easily saved the $40.00, like everything in life if you can't afford it don't do it or find something within your budget. David
  21. I think it was discussed earlier that the board could do a bulk email or in the magazine or both and ask members what they prefer, digital or print and based on your reply that is what you would get and if you opted for the print you would get the extra $40 fee, I still think there is a cost associated even with digital but that would have to be determined by the board. I don't like paying extra money at the best of times but I think if we want the printed version and if we believe what we are being told that the magazine is unsustainable in it's current form well I guess I will pay the extra money so that I have my magazine to sit down and read every month. David
  22. Good to hear..me either..costs to much !!! David
  23. No I am not rich, and I think I am being realistic, you can not do anything these days without having fee's increased from time to time, no matter what you are doing whether it be playing soccer on weekends, you normally play match fees and a club membership fees, well they all go up and if your budget it so tight that you are finding it hard to make ends meet, well maybe you need to cut back on your leisure activities or like someone said a few less beers or smokes, $40 per year is only approx 11c per day ... David
  24. I see some members borking at paying an extra $40 per year...per year guys...not per week or fortnight or even per month...per year... to keep our magazine coming out to us the way we like it. As I have said before here that I don't mind paying this money providing that the money only goes to paying for the magazine and not diverted to some other purpose. We spend and have spent big money training and flying and in some cases buying an aircraft yet some are worried about $40 per year...come on get real.. David
