  1. I had a cylinder hydraulic lock when left several months when overseas. Oil tank was mounted high. I remounted oil tank lower. I had to remove plugs to purge oil from cylinder. Tom
  2. Who said he was on a nav? 4th solo, probably local flying.
  3. Yes that is the one. Said he may part it out. Bit of a long shot but passed it on to you anyway. Tom
  4. We used to have comps at Tumut many years ago. Spot landing and forced landing with flour bomb , however the flour bomb was deleted in later years as it is illegal to drop things from aircraft without permission from mummy. :). All good fun and helps hone skills( not sure what skill flour bombing improved, but hey, it was fun). Tom
  5. 1 for sale on gumtree. Search 'ultralight wing' in all categories. Tom
  6. Mine has always ran low but did come up a bit when I changed the spring on relief valve. Tom
  7. I have built a tail wheel builycart with 'rudder pedals'. A beast to ride. Takes the kids a while to get the hang of it. Tom
  8. In the latest head inspection and through bolt replacement SB. ( pretty sure that's where I read it)
  9. Interesting Russ, I just read jabiru SB saying that additives or upper cyl lubricant should not be used. I personally don't have a problem with people using it, just thought I'd mention the SB. I don't think jabiru have the answers( any of them).
  10. Seems a bit too common, I looked at a 2 seater onetime, when I asked about weight, around 400kg! Where are the log books? No log books ! I was definitely not interested. Another aircraft I bought as a wreck , had log books but nothing of any consequence or value written in it, it was a factory built machine. I dismantled it.
  11. What's wrong with the original? It is a certificated aircraft.
  12. Wow! Risky jumping out with the prop behind!
  13. Andy, do you have a copy of letter?
  14. Discuss what? I don't seem to be able to find any letter or information about it on RAAus website. It appeared in this forum briefly then vanished. Something wrong somewhere.
  15. I don't know it appeared on this site the other day with a copy of letter. I just noticed the date. But then the thread disappeared? Perhaps check RAA website airworthiness history. Tom
  16. Letter dated April 2014
  17. When para dropping in c182, descent with power on at 65kt full flap and 80' bank angle, balanced turn. Aircraft will maintain that condition hands off with a high decent rate. Stall "speed " is a misnomer, it stalls at a particular AofA, we use the ASI as a measure of AoA in flight at 1g if more than 1g stall " speed" increases but unfortunately we don't have g meters and quick brains to work out the new stall speed accurately, add unbalanced turn and things do get complicated. An AofA meter would be the way to go. Tom
  18. On condition, has been part of the tech manual for a long time now, including for training. Nothing new here, a bit of carry through from GA actually. LSA is different kettle of fish with airworthiness responsibilities lying with manufacturer and what they dictate.
  19. Must have been a clipped wing cub!
  20. Jetjr replacing through bolts does not require complete strip. Did one not long ago that had a broken bolt( it had done less than 500 hrs!!!)
  21. I have only done AFR last 2 times, accepted as ra bfr. Tom
  22. Looks like very long through bolts, head to head, interesting concept.
  23. Wayne here are a couple of photos of my trim. I just joined the 2 tabs supplied together.
