  1. Hopefully l will see you in the State that has No borders. Perhaps we can have a big get together 'one day '. spacesailor
  2. Big enough to sit in & fly your-self !. spacesailor
  3. Like ' home town ' Rockhampton Queensland !. Watts Bridge VICTORIA. or am l wrong. spacesailor
  4. Slightly off topic !. But I aquired a ' emergency resuscitate machine ' With an oxygen bottle, the bottle was packed in a cardboard aerated box. It was Never used or wanted to be used !. That o2 bottle is probably available tobay. At eBay $65 for deposable bottle. spacesailor
  5. Jg3 That didn,t happen for Bill Belcher ( a sailor ) two epirbs that didn't work. Cut the drougs ( antidrift lumps ) off his liferaft & set sail for Brisbane. He was picted up within sight if the coast. I took my two obsolete epirbs apart and found one had a loose none- soldered antenna wire, & the other ( older ) one a leaking battery. SO I had two dudes out of two. Yes both had the test signal OKed spacesailor
  6. " put-a-tiger-in-your-tank ". The old one. spacesailor
  7. I did try a plastic fantastic battery chainsaw, But the fist time it hit a knotty hard bit a plastic gear stripped. To buy a replacement gear here was over two thirds the price of the chainsaw. I begged people going to Oshkosh to buy it from a local ( huge ) store. No taker,s, & l don,t blame them, even if a shopping trip could be entertaining . LoL spacesailor
  8. I have an electric hedge trimmer !. ( 240 volt ) BUT l cut its wire accidentally and it died with a pop. Frightened the life out of me. Blew the handle apart. All repaired now & still going well since 1982. spacesailor
  9. It,s a bit much if your landing Below 1 km, ( as in picture ). Are you guessing the last quarter km. ( Bankstown. 34ft / 10 mtr ) spacesailor
  10. ' Fuel management '. So an ultralite aircraft consuming 5 Lph with a 20 litre tank, HAS to have 30 minutes of reserved fuel to !. Do what ?. ( over-fill the tank ). Carry 22.5 litres. spacesailor
  11. Don,t forget those BUREAUOCRATES, Sitting in their offices dreaming of more restrictions, for you. spacesailor
  12. The Sydney ferries-cat,s were powered by two stroke diesel motors. They seem reasonably efficient, l have seen the ' black ' diesel smoke when pushing the throttle too far, making the engine struggle for air. Something diesel drivers have to learn. Heavy foot doesn't excellerate any faster than a light foot. spacesailor
  13. All LawyerSpeak, Lots of words, but no sence !. spacesailor
  14. Does your glider have the motor ?. As those ex military ASK21 powered glider. spacesailoe
  15. That,s a huge problem for any buyer. How can any company expect a reasonable return, with conditions like they have. A pity the seller won,t help either. There seems to be more aircraft in the background, than in the auction. spacesailor
  16. Top bid at the moment is about 1/2 a $million. But, some are less th a 1/4 $ million. The poweredsIlplanes are $ 35,000, and look i good condition. spacesailor
  17. Jabs magnetic trick should stick !. BUT The compass is much closer on a HumelBird, I,m saying 5 or 6 inches. After all the length is 14' ( feet ). I guess l,ll have to keep screwing away with thoe two 3/32 bolts. It,s just the thought of dropping one ( or both ) in the airfield grass !, never to be found again. spacesailor
  18. As the ' fuelcap cover is 0.8mm & the base is the same !. ( just went out & measured it ). Then 2 mm thickness of material, is a bit small. The reason, l asked for a couple of the smallest, will give me an idea how Big the smallest is. There are bigger RC models than the HummelBird, And with bigger engines. spacesailor
  19. Motor oil 15- 40. Syn. ( we are told ), IS thinner when cold and gets thicker when hot. BUT Even my old VW, recommends straight 30 grade. Thick wnen cold, getting thinner when it needs that thicker oil at high loads & tempreture. So, how about an ' oil heater ', at startup. Like we used in those Cold European winters, that saved many from a cracked block !. spaceailor
  20. Blueadventures, I checked them out !, ( camlocs ) But The same thing aplies. Even in their literature it says ( can,t find that site now, so as l remember it ) " we don,t use size but serial numbers ". So to fasten a ten-thou" inspection door closed l use a couple of nuts & bolts. And some are in French ! The rest American. spacesailor
  21. Any chance someone would have two complete Dzus fasteners of the ' smallest size ' out there, to join two thin alloy parts. ( not structural ). I,m using two 3/32" nuts & bolts at the moment. The sizes have me bamboozled spacesailor
  22. Starts between fill !. I, like lots of other car owner,s have Not refueled my Pajero for getting on to a year now. Running a second ( diesel ) car. The Old 95 octane fuel must be due for a change soon. Here,s hoping it Will start when that day eventually arrives, then off for holidays AND breakdowns. I,m going out to check the logbook. I,m back, the last fill was' 15 / 2 / 21 at Orange. Price was $ 131.9 cpl. spacesailor
  23. In their discription, there is the words after the prop hours, " unserviable " , whether it,s the prop only or the aircraft hard to tell !. Two are up to $ 499.500. spacesailor
  24. Those Roulette aircraft are now being bid on, with bids ranging from $ 25 to $100,000. The sailplanes are around $35,000. spacesailor
