  1. You're! Don't scare Dazza off with the poor grandma
  2. What has four wheels and flies? A garbage truck
  3. Yes it is frustrating but legally their hands are tied. At least they are trying, telling us nothing is telling us something in its own right. Previously notice has been given to highlight different things (Bowden cables, dual inspections) which one could presume to mean that particular thing was the cause of the fatal without actually breaking the law and saying so outright. I much prefer to receive email riddles regarding fatale rather than silence.
  4. Stranger things have happened BUT imo lack of maintenance causes more failures than incorrect maintenance.
  5. Well we would have more to complain about if they did have a real contender, so maybe we should be thankful that this is what it is. Besides it still looks cool, if Lsa could accept turbines it might be a nice package
  6. It would be at least worth pulling them out to inspect them, while I understand they haven't done many hours there is a reason things have a use by date for example would you leave your oil change longer than 1 year? At 10 hrs a yr your 25hrly oil change would last 2 and a half years but is it really worth leaving it? I wouldn't worry if it was my car but in a plane it is worthwhile ensuring we minimise as many points of failure as possible.
  7. I wasn't referring to rotax and yes Jab should be proud that of what they have achieved, I was actually genuinely surprised at how many things come from Austria. I guess it stands out a bit more when you consider that our car makers are disappearing and we seem to be going backwards as a whole in a manufacturing sense but it is well worth a google trip to explore just how many recognisable brands come from there.
  8. Austria puts Australia to shame when it come to manufacturing, it is well worth a google to see just how much stuff they actually produce.
  9. @IBob is a new Zealander and may be able to help you Bob. If you click on his name it will bring up his profile and there will be a place there that says "start a conversation" if you click on that you can send him a message directly. There are a fair few New Zealanders on this site but the majority are Aussies. Our flags (which show up near our names) are nearly identical except New Zealanders have red stars. We are all more than happy to help tho
  10. As I said above Aj it is designed to do that and is easy to switch off. Switch on Bluetooth on your headset and wait for it to connect to your phone. Once connected open your music player and play a song or call MessageBank so you can hear when you fix it, say something into your Mike and the music should drop volume for a second or two, once the volume is back to normal press the black button twice and the test again. The volume will not drop once you have done this.
  11. For the sake of a wooden broom handle it isn't a huge cost to make a couple of copies of your calibrated stick and if they do get a bit dark with age just replace swap them out. They cost next to nothing and nothing can go wrong with them. The tubing is a neat idea but is it really needed?
  12. Settle down fellas, if we ousted every pollie who committed fraud we won't have anyone left to run the country! We would then have to do it ourselves and frankly I don't have the time nor the desire. Personally I think we should can the pension for all pollies and pay them more while they serve and let them live with a bit of cream while they are working for us but once we fire them it should be "good riddance and look after yourself".
  13. The Zulus automatically reduce Bluetooth volume when the intercom or radio are in use so you don't miss any important radio calls, to override it you have to press the black (working from memory!) button once or twice. I make a habit of doing it when I first start up (and check it with a call to MessageBank) so that I don't have to fiddle with it if I receive a call in flight.
  14. But aren't even Jabiru sourcing more and more things from overseas? Aussie manufacturing is disgracefully absent but we can only blame ourselves the consumers.
  15. I would say that would be possible but imo unlikely in this event, looking at the video the plane seemed quite well controlled before impact so I would say pilot incapacitation would be unlikely.
  16. The first thing I pictured was a runway 'excursion' off an elevated bank, not exactly a desirable thing.
  17. I don't have OCD but could you change that to 15 minutes? It would be more impressive:blush:
  18. If you actually read what was sent out by the RAA you will see this sentence. From 1 August 2017 the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development will be implementing major changes to all ASIC issuing bodies and applicants. Which would reveal that this has nothing to do with a big nastie RAA trying to rape and pillage but rather a higher up change which will affect ALL issuing bodies.
  19. By my understanding if it wasn't issued by RAA you would have to have a face to face with whoever issued it?
  20. When I agreed with you red it was because I also resemble that, not because I agreed that you resembled it:wave:
  21. That all seems like hard work if you ask me. I think the easiest way would be to paint over the paint with something like this That would solve all your problems as your windscreen would then end up clear, we used this technique at home recently, we had a green wall and were not happy and wanted it blue so instead of stripping the old paint we just painted over it with a blue paint and viola we got a blue wall with hardly any effort.
  22. If they did it so you had the option to get it through your local rta/rms office it would make life a lot easier. Surely in a common sense world they would be sufficient for a face to face requirement?
  23. Maybe associated with the splitting off of the off topic section?
  24. Ozrunways has it in the list of airfields.
  25. Peppered might be appropriate tomorrow! Take care up there Frank.
