  1. With the 3 or 4 standard ones I have seen fitted to J230s, I agree perform quite well but at the cost of 10kts to cruise speed - consistent with a finer pitch.
  2. As stated by someone before ref a radio, without a dispensation the ERSA provides the answer to the question.
  3. You won't have to worry about that for too much longer. Some have a different view but time will tell who is correct. I am glad you are happy. Membership and registration in the future?
  4. So this is no longer current?
  5. Reducing to idle is sufficient to simulate an engine failure, turning off in a single engine is unnecessary usually conducted by a person with a certain personality. (Even in twins it is only simulated close to the ground) If someone was able to reach past me and touch the mag switches that would be the last time he ever sat I'm my aeroplane. I guess it is a choise thing.
  6. Yes and to use the information they provide like BRG TRMG DRIFT etc and not just follow the line.
  7. Have you left the top end, or just visiting Ben?
  8. Part of an email I received through RAPAC, so I doubt it Ian. " You may have seen in the media by now that many of the PC9-A aircraft are not flying due to engineering inspections of in the nose wheel strut. There will no longer be flying displays for the upcoming Queensland tour – therefore the recently promulgated TRA’s will be cancelled. "
  9. There are whisperers and shouters, and every range inbetween. Hard to set a modulation level to work across the whole range - that's before considering external preamps on powered mics. Bearing in mind aviation coms are still AM.
  10. Being picky but from memory I think the wing loading of 2 is actually 60° .
  11. Roulettes grounded
  12. Not the "actual words" said.
  13. If you are departing class G, I can see no reason to be on a downwind leg - I.e. Get above circuit traffic
  14. That is exactly the difference between an "investigator" INVESTIGATING information from an informant V taking the basic information from an informant as the total evidence to support/disprove an allegation. Big difference - unfortunately the latter appears to be the case. Confidentiality another issue.
  15. All the factory built Jabiru aircraft with 2 radios fitted have an external intercom. Half a dozen of the local ones have noise cancelling headsets working with no problems. ?????? (All fitted with Microair radios)
  16. Just to be clear, are you talking about BOTH the rate of turn indicator and the slip indicator working i.e not just the slip indicator.
  17. Have you read the POH?
  18. At this late stage why not wait until the outcome of the vote on Saturday? Agree or not the outcome will decide what happens next.
  19. Quite correct, all I was pointing out no longer fitted to new aircraft. (Although with an engine management system there is now a fuel flow readout)
  20. Haven't been fitted for some time now mate.
  21. Bill, they are fitted standard to new Jabiru aircraft now. I don't have one fitted to mine but as oil useage is very low I am quite happy to top up with fresh oil as needed - comes down to personal choise I guess.
  22. That's an interesting observation - completely at odds with my testing. Both pumps rated at 60ltrs/hr. Tested flow rates on both on mine and got 60ltrs/hr on electric and >50 odd/ltrs/hr at idle on the mechanical. Gravity only feed was not a problem under full throttle static but starved on climb (on a 3300 I think is about 38-40ltrs/hr). Cruise climb on mechanical pump only without any problem also. Full throttle climb on electric pump ONLY also no problem. Interesting that your observations are at odd with my findings.
  23. Don, a close read of CAO 95.55 might might be informative for you.
