  1. A lot of dirt exported from China to Australia too. They call it fertiliser. I had a bag of "copper sulphate" had just enough copper to make it blue and still had the roots in the dirt.
  2. The hollow prop shaft on a Rotax has huge possibilities for air to ground attack. A constant speed prop would make it awkward though.
  3. But Queensland is nice this time of year, any time of year actually. Think I might move over the river myself. What about poking the scat tube up your trouser leg, did you like that one Ron? Nice to hear from you again, Cheers Steve.
  4. Click on Allan@Bendigo in the posts above in this thread and click "start conversation" and send him a private message. Or just don't worry, talk to Derek Liston (also above) and then go and build a Savannah.
  5. Not important for a single build. Old Clekoloc ones seem stronger in the spring than old wedge loc ones.
  6. What about a bit of scat tube extending the heater outlet over to pilot side, stick it up the leg of your pants or something. Your passenger won't need it.
  7. At about the same age I used to help my Daddy by turning the little knobs on his rifle scope, and listen to the clicks.
  8. Sounds like someone is not doing their job! Must be time for a holiday.
  9. Foxbat trainer at Glen Innes rings a bell. Think it was a bent crankshaft but I wasn't involved with it.
  10. Those red tappet covers do stand out against the purple.
  11. Do a test cut on scrap. I found I got a cleaner finish cutting through from the underside when I did use the hole saw. My wing skins were the first lot pre cut for extended tanks so they are what they are, machine cut.
  12. Do you want to fly amongst pilots who arrogantly or ignorantly think they immortal? The news combined with their relatives will leave them with no illusion once they express their interest in learning to fly!
  13. Spit it out Bex! Why don't you come right out and say what you really think.
  14. I followed a convoy of Morris Minors down the Newell Highway on the way to Natfly a few years ago. They must have been meeting at Dubbo or Parkes, can't remember now but all of a sudden they started coming towards us in the other lane after we passed through their destination.
  15. Rather get stuck behind them than a bunch of SOBs on the way to an RV rally.
  16. A question is only daft if you should have asked it and didn't. Welcome and fire away with the questions, many of us will learn from the answers to your questions as much as you do.
  17. Lifted this off Facebook Geoff, acknowledgements to the owner who ever they are.
  18. The new seats have different cushions and a very deep recess in the front edge to accommodate twin sticks. The mounting may be difficult though they are still a factory option. I have had a play with two kits with them now, building the seat frames and buckets in the first one was more fun than building my first door. Watching Jeremy put all the flat bits together to get bucket seats, you could see he was enjoying it too, I was just looking over his shoulder giving him encouragement and the odd advice. They have really made their 3D design program work for it's money this time. Shame about the weight though.
  19. You could retrofit an armrest much easier, wouldn't be bad on the pilots side when you are doing circuits, for you throttle arm. I had one from Jeremy's kit built over at Reg's but I misplaced it before I built my doors. It was a pax side one so the holes would have needed a bit of reaming in places.
  20. You would need to strip right down to the floor, the bulkhead across the front of the tunnel is really flat. The seats are a fabricated bucket seat, absolute genius design but they have about 3Kg of rivets in each side. You would find them a bit squeezy I think.
  21. It is standard in the new kits, they also have armrests and adjustable seats( 4 positions) now.
